House Crush starts with this lovely view!
Need a little break from the heat today? It’s 92 degrees in Paris as I write this post! A good friend is on a buying trip there and said it is !! H-O-T-HOT !! So why not escape to the mountains of North Georgia for a House Crush tour—you deserve a little vaca from the early September heat.
This House Crush mountain retreat, built in the 1940s, is still loved by the same family today. The oak board and batten house is situated on a ridge with both a mountain and a lake view. Designed for comfort, fun and entertaining, family and house guests enjoy games, boating, fishing, hiking, music from the jukebox—or just relaxing in the cool mountain air.
The kitchen is open and perfect for entertaining. The counters are Tate marble from a local source and the large dining table is actually two rectangular tables joined together for large groups—The more the merrier is obviously the motto here. I would just enjoy sitting on one of the many patios with coffee or a cocktail taking in the view!
Enjoy the tour!

Warm and welcoming is the theme.

This would be my favorite seat—I love the green lamps.

Windows line this whole wall in the living room—I think I see a swing hanging from the oak tree.

A collection of bird prints line this wall where all the fun happens—jukebox, darts, air hockey ….

Entertaining would be a dream with this large open kitchen.

Another collection rests on the marble back splash—stone hearts gathered by the family.

Two tables join to make one large table for entertaining—I have those vases, too.

Drop your keys, grab a walking stick and go for a relaxing hike …

Or relax with a good book and a nap.

This charming room has welcomed many a happy guest.

Welcome to the mountains—I love a gravel drive crunching under your feet.

More gravel paths edged with boxwood and beautiful flowers—and I spy an outdoor shower!

More of the ‘heart’ collection is on the stone and gravel patio!

Wouldn’t you love to dine under the stars and tiny lights on this patio.

The house blends into the surrounding landscape.

Planters filled to abundance line the patios—great view, too.

I love this flower vase attached to a tree—so stealing this idea!
