Things to do during construction

Construction in Cashiers is underway! We will be adding a laundry room and a pantry upstairs—no more trips to the basement with loaded arms. The new space will include an office, a small kitchen area, a party and entertaining room, a screened porch and a patio.

My architect, the talented Mr. Keven Hawkins, suggested that we bring everything up to the main floor, so we could enjoy the area along with our guests. Brilliant! (The whole entertaining area was previously moving to the basement for guests to enjoy.)

The small fire pit will be moved closer to the middle of the garden and away from the propane tank—I mean really—that’s a no-brainer.  A small walled garden will greet guests by the front door instead of the existing asphalt expanse.

Have a peek into the happenings this week and see what I did to get construction and meeting relief.
