Summer Afternoon …

Summer Afternoon … the two most beautiful words in the English language according to Henry James. Well, I agree with Henry—alfresco meals, lounge chairs, running water, freshly mowed grass and hammocks are all the best things about Summer. Oh, and don’t forget fresh strawberries … can’t believe I forgot strawberries. My garden is looking wonderful this year. The rain and the cooler temps this Spring have delayed the flowers and supplied abundant blooms for Summer. The Garden is calling me … cocktails for two please.

Welcome to the Summer garden

Running water is calming and blocks the city noises

View of the side patio—granite walls were built in the 40’s

Pink blooms accent the picket fence

Boxwood and hydrangeas are everywhere

Former playground area is now a secret patio—love these adirondac chairs

Look what I found along the path—Apricots almost ripe

Janie is calling me back in—more later
