Up the Garden Path …
Enchanting—is the best word to describe this lovely garden that just happens to be in my new neighborhood. The owner and head gardener gave my garden club a private tour. Ryan Gainey of Atlanta is the designer. The garden is surrounded by forest and has an amazing view of the sheer rock face of Old Bald Mountain.
Our guides took us along the woodland walk full of native and endangered plants and flowers and pointed out new surprises around each corner. The path wanders beside a waterfall, bubbling fountains, rock walls, fruit trees and even a stumpery in the making. Here is a glimpse into the garden and all of its many wonders.

The boxwood are trimmed in cloud like forms—and that view
Espalier pear trees line the stone wall
Wisteria climbs the garage trellis
Stone walls and steps lead through the cloud boxwood and tree archway
A bubbling fountain greets guest on the lawn
Stone walls line the walkways and are filled with ferns and rhododendron
Pitcher plants flourish near the waterfall
Small copper light light the stairs to the garden waterfall
And line the woodland paths
Cinnamon ferns love the moist shaded soil
These Fairy Wands will find their way to my garden
Jack-in-the-pulpits love the deep shade along the paths
Stumps are filled with native plants
Baptisia is a favorite of mine—love the blue flowers and gray green foliage
Beautiful Bulls-eye rock is tucked neatly among the plants
Little brown jug plants nestled deep in the shade
